Mt Hotham is Australia's highest Alpine village at 1750 metres above sea level. It is renowned for it's advanced and intermediate downhill ski runs while beginners are also well catered for on the gentle slopes of the Summit and Big D.

Sno - Tow Oversnow Transport

Even though Eumarellah is situated only 200 metres from the Alpine Road, you may require oversnow transport to get your luggage to the lodge as the roads in the Davenport estate in winter are closed to cars.

Skis and snowboards are available for hire on mountain from shops located at Hotham Central, Jack Frost and the Big D centre.

 A free shuttle bus service operates within the village to move people from the car parks and from The Davenport area to the central village area.

Buses operate from early morning to late in the evening and very early on Saturday mornings to cater for late arrivals on the weekends. The nearest bus stop to Eumarellah is Bus Stop 8 situated diecectly below Tanderra ski lodge.

 

Getting to Hotham is relatively easy now that the Great Alpine Road is sealed right through.

Forget the dark old days working your way through the mud and slush on an uncleared road that old hands may remember.

There are plenty of bars and restaurants around the resort capable of satisfying serious hunger and thirst.

The General Store is the place to watch the football over a few beers on Saturday afternoons and is the only venue open all year round in the village.
