Mt Hotham is Australia's highest Alpine village at 1750 metres above sea level. It is renowned for it's advanced and intermediate downhill ski runs while beginners are also well catered for on the gentle slopes of the Summit and Big D.
Some of the most challenging and spectacular XC areas in Australia are also to be found on the Bogong and Dargo High Plains with Mt Hotham serving as a home base for day trips and longer expeditions.
There are over 35 kilometres of XC trials around the village and to Wire Plain and Dinner Plain village. Trail head fees are not charged in the Mt Hotham resort.
In the unlikely event that you become bored with the slopes at Mt Hotham you can always take the helicopter over to Falls Creek where you can ski on your Hotham ticket.
